Project description

  • Insertion and construction of the tank from subassemblies directly at the final position.
  • Cutting (of the old tank) with plasma should be carried out during mixing, with cutting stopped during the manual introduction of ingredients to prevent contamination.
  • Subassemblies were designed, constructed, and delivered in sizes that could fit through the access doors and between other equipment along the path to the final position of the tank.
  • A scaffold (made of galvanized carbon steel) was designed and built, taking into account space constraints, to support the chain hoist used for lowering the tank during cutting and lifting subassemblies during the construction of the new tank.
  • The shell subassemblies were brought into the hall and rotated into the mounting position using the roof beams, with a maximum subassembly weight of 360 kg.
  • The execution was carried out in the steps described earlier (shell 2 + cap, shell 3 with the previous assembly, and so on) until the tank was sealed.
  • After the tank was completed, connections were made to the main product lines and the supply/discharge circuits.

Challenges of #Team RAP

Constraints:

The introduction of a fully manufactured tank through the roof or access routes was impossible due to the tank’s dimensions (2.5x6m).
The cutting and removal of the deformed tank from the building was carried out without impacting production.
