Project description

The fabrication of the skids was carried out at the RAP Tronic Process Engineering workshop, while the connection was made at the client’s site.

The engineering process involved intricate design drawings tailored to the client’s requirements. One of the skid components is made of copper and was manufactured using silver alloy brazing and threaded joints.

The stainless-steel skids were tested at a pressure of 130 bar to ensure safety and compliance with technical specifications. The success of the project was largely due to the exceptional skills of the welder, who managed to complete the connection welds in an extremely confined space, overcoming major constraints imposed by the location.

Challenges of #TeamRAP

  • Shutdown and emptying of the CO2 racks for short periods
  • Extremely limited space for connection welds
  • RX testing for the last two welds due to restricted space while keeping the installation timeline
  • Requirement for a high level of precision and skill to complete the critical welds
